My Excursions during my school days.

During my stay in Vaitarna, we took out a couple of excursions to Bhandardara dam and Randha falls and Ghoti a small village in Kasara ghat. Hindustan co had provided a bus everytime for children of municiple school and it was fun riding to the chosen spots. A couple of teachers were with us and of course the school peon--Jayram. at bhandardara we had lot of fun of sight seeing and games. The seniors among us had a swim and after the swim they had sumptuos repast. meal time was great enjoyment as our madam had prepared special dishes for the children. Randha fallls ws especially menacing as many of us had seen a fall for the first time. Comparatively Ghoti was a silent village but it presented wonderful magic show i had ever seen. I remained in the girls company as girls company i liked most in those days ( and even now.). In sports activities i was never to be beaten especially in running, kabaddi and kho kho. While coming we all sang many hindi and marathi songs at top of our voices. Our parents anxiously waiting for us but we had a lot to tell them about our excursions

My School Days.Jason’s Diary

My school days-----------------
Butterfly days or school days are unforgettable days of my life. In them days spent in Vaitarna are perhaps the most memorable days of my life. Some writers reminisise “ Those were the days my friend-----“ such are the nostalgic memories of those unforgettable days. In std II I first entered vaitarna Mumbai municipal school till std. V.
Thereafter my father got transferred and I went back to good old Kalyan school. But my days in Vaitarna were like days spent in Heaven. I was the most carefree happy go lucky sort of fellow in those days. Eat drink and be merry was my motto. Of course some days brought worries to my childhood but they were rare.
My school was a tiny three room building with tin roof. The school was manned by a staff of three teachers and a peon. Mrs. Asha Bhosale was head mistress, then Deshmukha bai, Miss Gulab Nachane and the peon Jairam. Among the students there were some tribal students like Damu and Bhingari. They were grown up students
Damu was sitting on back benche and man as he was he had habit of baring his private part during class time. Other studdents used to observe him wide eyed and disbelief. But no one spoke about the matter to class teacher Miss Nachane. The recess was most happy time and we played many games and lot of running around. In those days even the girls never mixed ith boys while playing. There was faint understanding about man and woman but the use of girls was not known. I percieved them as hindrnace in our games. The first girl to attract my attention was Rajani but she was senior to me. We used to look with awe and wonder at Rajani and she smiled benignly at us. She appeared as a fairy from heaven. The uneventful year of second std passed and I was declared second in the final exam. My understanding of human relations also increased.
